The 8 Most Watchable AFL Players in Season 2021

Number 8 – Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti  Tippa is a key player for the Essendon Bombers, and is an absolute beast both offensively and defensively. Whether it’s a rundown tackle, or an insane pocket goal, Tippa is your guy. Arguably the most exciting Bombers player to watch, Tippa will be coming into some fine form in 2021, so expect even more hard laid tackles and insane goals from the 27-year-old.

Number 7 – Dustin Martin – Dusty is, and will always be, one of the biggest AFL Legends in the Game. After booting 4 goals in the Grand Final and taking home another Norm Smith Medal, it’s fair to say he’ll be pretty damn watchable coming into 2021. For the player that constantly keeps everyone on their toes, and outperforms everyone on field – look no further than Dustin Martin.

Number 6 – Liam Ryan – or Flyin’ Ryan as he’s more affectionately called, is an absolute gun in the air, and loves a bit of contested footy. If you hadn’t already gotten it from the nickname, Flyin’ Ryan is king of the specky, and leaves many a fan open mouthed as they watch him soar through the air.

Number 5 – Tom Hawkins – King of the Goal Square, Hawkins is going to be absolutely dominant coming into 2021. He was one of the most watchable players in 2020, so it’s no surprise he’ll be stripping up even better coming into next season. Hawkins is last year’s Coleman Meal Winner, snagging the most goals in the league – making him one to keep your eye on for 2021.

Number 4 – Toby Greene – AFL’s bad boy. Toby Greene is always in the headlines for either gouging someone’s eyes, or kicking opponents. While he’s also an absolute gun of a player – there will always be no telling what Toby Greene will do next. If you want to keep up-to-date with all the ridiculousness, make sure to keep your eye on this GWS Star.

Number 3 – Lachie Neale – The 2020 Brownlow Medal Winner really needs no introduction. He’s the star of the show at the moment, racking up some huge disposal counts throughout the year. An impressive feat considering the shortened quarters. Neale shows no sign of slowing down in 2021, and will easily be one of the most watchable players in the league.

Number 2 – Charlie Dixon – Charlie Dixon commands Port Adelaide Fans, and haters, alike to watch him on field. Port’s tall man pipped goal after goal last year, and came within an arm’s length of taking home the Coleman. Watch him in 2021 if you want to see the next Coleman Medal Winner in action.

Number 1 – Matt Rowell – The AFL World were absolutely gutted with the injury of Star Suns Rookie in 2020. He was unlike anything the League had ever seen, outplaying even the most seasoned veterans (the video of him confusing Fyfe, anyone!?). So, it’s safe to say he’ll be embraced with open arms when he returns to field next season, and will be the most watchable player of the 2021 season.
